Obituary

Addie Blackwell Hill, 98, of Lubbock and formerly of Canyon and Olton, died Tuesday, May 19, 2020, in Lubbock.  Private family graveside services at Olton Cemetery will be held under the care of Ramage Funeral Directors.  Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, Wednesday, May 20, at Ramage Funeral Directors in Olton.

Addie was born on November 8, 1921, in Arkansas, to Wesley and Allie (Glass) Lambert.  She married Bill Woods and had two children.  Following her first marriage, Addie married Loyd Blackwell and they had two children.  He preceded her in death in 1983.  Lastly, Addie married Vick Hill and he preceded her in death in 2006.  Addie lived in Olton from 1951 to 1972 where she was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene and the Home Demonstration Club.  She also operated a daycare in her home throughout her years in Olton.  Moving to Canyon in 1972, Addie worked at West Texas College as the cashier in the cafeteria for over 20 years.  She moved to Lubbock in 2010 to be near her son and she will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by a son, Bruce Woods, a daughter, Lenora Holdeman, and eight brothers and sisters.

Survivors include her daughter, Lynda Dresch and her husband, Jerry of Jacksonville, FL and her son, Carrol Blackwell and his wife, Cindy of Lubbock.  She was blessed with seven grandchildren and numerous great and great-great- grandchildren.
