Shirley Anne Nicholas, 91, of Plainview and formerly of Olton, died Sunday, May 10, 2026, in Olton. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at Olton Cemetery with Mr. David Pinkerton and Mr. Callen Pinkerton officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Ramage Funeral Directors. Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 12, at Ramage Funeral Directors in Olton, with the family receiving friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Anne was born February 17, 1935, in Plainview to Floyd and Ineta (Wilkinson) Dennis. She married Buster Nicholas on December 14, 1951, in Olton. Anne owned and operated Northside Gifts in Olton and later Designs By Anne in Plainview for more than thirty years. A gifted seamstress, she made countless twirling costumes and wedding dresses through the years and was known for her creativity and artistic talent. She was also a devoted and loving mother who took great pride in caring for her family. In 1992, she moved to Plainview from Olton and was a member of Northwest Church of Christ. Anne especially enjoyed hosting tea parties for neighborhood children, turning ordinary afternoons into tiny celebrations filled with laughter and imagination.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Buster Nicholas; and three brothers, Jerry Dennis, Darryl Dennis, and Ronnie Dennis.
Survivors include her daughters, Susan Hall and husband Charles of Lubbock and Sharla Harrelson and husband Jordan of Austin; two sisters, Maenette Shipley of Olton and Sharron Hamby of Midland; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
