Antonio "Tony" Aguirre, 72, of Hale Center, passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2026. A viewing will be held from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, April 5, 2026, at Ramage Funeral Directors in Hale Center. A rosary will follow at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 6, 2026, at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Hale Center with Father Alex Ambrose officiating and under the care of Ramage Funeral Directors.
Tony was born April 18, 1953, in Abernathy, Texas, to Juan and Maria (Gill) Aguirre. He was a lifelong Hale Center area resident and a member of St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Hale Center. Tony married the love of his life, Sally Valdivia, on July 20, 1974, and they enjoyed over 51 years together. He worked as a welder for over 43 years, dedicating himself to providing for his family through hard work and perseverance.
Tony enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and watching western movies. He was a humble man who deeply loved his wife, sons, grandchildren, and all his family. He instilled in his family the importance of hard work, loyalty, and staying close to one another. His quiet strength and steady presence were a guiding force to those who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Juan and Maria Aguirre; his son, Danny Aguirre; four siblings, John Joe Aguirre, Adam Aguirre, Eva Aguirre, and Frances Perez; his sisters-in-law, Lisa Madrigal and Janie Aguirre; and his father-in-law, Antonio Valdivia.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Sally Aguirre of Hale Center; his sons, Tony Aguirre and wife Christy of Abernathy, and Luke Aguirre of Lubbock; his brother, Santos Aguirre of Colorado Springs, Colorado; his sisters, Lydia Hernandez and husband Frank of Denver City, and Lucia Garza and husband Arnulfo of Abernathy; and three grandchildren, Baylee Aguirre, Ty Aguirre, and Kase Aguirre; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, tias, and one tio.
Tony will be remembered for his hard-working spirit, his love for his family, and the values he passed down that will continue for generations.
