Apolonio "Polo" Luera, 89, of Olton, died Saturday, December 22, 2018, in Olton.  Rosary will be said at 6:00 PM, Sunday, December 23, 2018, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Olton.  Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM, Monday, December 24, 2018, at St. Peter's Catholic Church with Fr. Sylvester DSouza officiating.  Interment will follow at Olton Cemetery under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors.

Polo was born January 24, 1929, in Melvin, Texas, to Apolonio and Sopopa (Rodriguez) Luera.  He moved to Olton in 1945 and was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church.  On June 20, 1981, he married Amelia Casares in Olton.  Polo loved to dance and spend time with his granddaughters.  He had a wonderful sense of humor and was always making people laugh.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Robert Luera, five sisters, and a brother.

Survivors include his wife, Amelia Luera of Olton, a son, Christian Luera of Lubbock, a daughter, Patricia Flores of Lubbock, and three sisters, Delia Balderamos of Ft. Worth, Josie Gonzales of Ft. Worth, and Sopopa Pedroza of Olton.  He was blessed with 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
