Armando G. DeLeon, 81, of Earth, died Thursday, April 30, 2015, in Lubbock. Services will be at 2:00 P.M., Monday, May 4, 2015, at the First Baptist Church in Earth with Pastor Paul Ramon, Pastor Angie Castillo, and Pastor Roy Dominguez officiating. Interment will follow at Earth Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors of Olton. Visitation will be held Saturday and Sunday at the Temple of Adoration in Earth.
Armando was born September 12, 1933, in Jourdanton, Texas to Manuel and Amelia (Garcia) DeLeon. He moved to Earth in 1954 and was a member of the Temple of Adoration. On October 5, 1955, in Clovis, New Mexico, Armando married Gregoria Samarron and they were together nearly 60 years. Armando retired from farming and enjoyed his frequent trips to McDonalds where he was well known. Most of all, Armando loved spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by two grandsons and one great-grandson.
Survivors include his wife, Gregoria DeLeon of Earth; seven sons: Armando DeLeon, Jr., Raul DeLeon, Israel DeLeon, and Anthony DeLeon, all of Earth, Danny DeLeon of Lubbock, Gerardo DeLeon of Houston, and Ruben DeLeon of Plainview; six daughters: Juanita Gonzales of Springlake, Angie Castillo and Diane Camarena, both of Earth, Yolanda Davila of Lubbock, Mandy Rincon of Beeville, and Molly Gonzales of Plainview; and his brother, Manuel DeLeon of Erick, OK. He was blessed with 34 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.
