Asunción "Joanie" Mosqueda, 64, of Earth, Texas, entered into eternal rest on December 1, 2020. Joanie was born to Francisco & Epifania Rivera on February 20, 1956, in Bronte, Texas, where she spent much of her childhood before moving to Olton, Texas. She graduated from Olton High School and married her high school sweetheart, Alfonso Mosqueda, on September 7, 1974. She had two children, Jason and Michael.

Joanie was dedicated to her family and faith. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and daughter. Al was her rock and she especially loved her sons and grandchildren. Her sister, Melissa's children, are also like grandchildren to her & she shared a special bond with her niece, Marissa. She loved nothing more than spending time with her grandchildren and supporting them in everything they did.

Joanie loved playing softball, volleyball, and golf. She loved her job of over 30 years as a Content Mastery Teacher's Aid and school bus driver for Springlake-Earth ISD.  She loved baking and continuing her family traditions, especially during the holidays. Her favorite hobby was wreath making.

She was a devout Roman Catholic and served both Saint Mary Magdalen and Saint Peter's Catholic Church. Her passion was teaching the Catechism to the youth of her community, which she did for over 35 years.

She is preceded in death by her father, Francisco Rivera. She is survived by her mother, Epifania Rivera, her husband, Al Mosqueda, her son, Jason and wife Andrea and their two children, Ethan and Ennah, her son, Michael and wife Crystal and their two children, Xavyer and Myla.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 5, 2020, at Olton Cemetery, with Fr. Jacob Powell officiating and under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors.  Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m., and the rosary will be said at 6:00 p.m., Friday, December 4, 2020, at Ramage Funeral Directors.
