Atanacio Romero, 90, of Earth, died Saturday, September 18, 2010 in Lubbock. Services will be at 2:00 P.M., Monday, September 20, 2010 at Living Faith Christian Church in Olton with Pastor Valentine Martinez officiating. Interment will follow at Earth Memorial Cemetery in Earth, Texas under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors in Olton.

Atanacio was born August 21, 1920 in Durango, Mexico to Arcadio and Francisca Salas Romero. He married Maria Garcia in 1950 in Durango, Mexico. In 1979, he moved to Earth from Juarez, Mexico. He was a member of Living Faith Christian Church in Olton.

He was preceded in death by a son, Manuel Resendez and a grandson, Luis Romero.

Survivors include his wife, Maria Romero of Earth, a son, Gerardo Romero of Earth, three daughters, Lydia Resendez, Jovita Romero, and Teresa Reyes, all of Earth, two brothers, Felipe Romero of Durango, Mexico, and Lupe Romero of Durango, Mexico. He was blessed with 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
