Betty Jean King, 87, of Hart, died Thursday, November 19, 2015 in Olton. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, November 23, 2015, at the First Baptist Church in Hart with Brother Josh Faucett officiating. Interment will follow at Hart Cemetery under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors in Olton. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Sunday, November 22, 2015.
Betty Jean King was born September 29, 1928, in Plainview, Texas to Robert and Laura (Stutte) Luster. On November 28, 1946, she married W.T. "Dub" King in Plainview and they were together almost 69 years. She moved to Hart in 1963 and was a member of Hart First Baptist Church. Betty loved the outdoors, especially gardening and hiking. She enjoyed bowling and was a talented seamstress. An avid antiquer, she was a collector of tin cans, teapots, and tapestries.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, one brother, and a granddaughter.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, W.T. "Dub" King of Hart, two sons: Kelly King and his wife, Lorie of Rowlett, TX and Matt King and his wife, Debbie of Nazareth, two daughters: Becky Smith and her husband, Danny of Olton and Teri Gruhlkey and her husband, Perry of Plainview. She was blessed with 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
