Billie Kelley, 79, of Olton, joined her Heavenly Father on December 8, 2010. Her family praises God that she suffers no more. Billie attended the Main Street Church of Christ where her service will be held Saturday, December 11, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. to be officiated by Mr. Brad Wangerin. Private interment will follow at Olton Cemetery under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors.
She was born May 20, 1931 in Slaton, Texas. She married the love of her life, Billy George Kelley, August 6, 1947 in Lubbock, Texas. They were able to spend just one day short of 60 years together on this Earth, as Bill passed away August 5, 2007.
Billie moved to Olton in 1953, where she and Bill owned and operated Kelley's Clothiers until the summer of 1973. Billie loved to play bridge, paint, crochet, sew and quilt through the years. She made many treasured quilts before becoming a resident at the Runningwater Draw Care Center in June, 2008.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bill; her parents, Lewis Grant and Lillie Lee Hoover; an infant sister, Doris Lee Hoover; a brother, Dwain Hoover; and her in-laws, Roy and Nora Lee Kelley; as well as sister-in-law, Wanda Griffin.
Survivors include son, Gary Kelley and his wife, Dona of Lubbock; daughter Vicki Lindsay and husband, Clifton of Georgetown, TX; and son, Brad Kelley and his wife, Sherri of Rogue River, Oregon and Gilbert, Arizona.
Also surviving are brother, L.G. Hoover and Marilyn of Redding, California; brother, Roy Hoover and wife, Jerry of Mesa, Arizona; and sister-in-law, Beva Hoover, of Glendale, Arizona. Five special grandchildren and six special great grandchildren survive Billie as well.
