Billie Flake Wooten, 86, of Lubbock and formerly of Hale Center, died Thursday, April 6, 2017, in Lubbock. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, April 8, 2017, at Hale Center Cemetery, with Bro. Kris Knippa officiating and under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors of Hale Center.

Billie was born August 19, 1930, in Clovis, N.M., to J.J. "Blackie" and Kay (Cunningham) Montgomery. She married Bill Flake in 1948 and they resided in Hale Center on the family farm until 1961. Together they moved to Del Rio and in 1971 moved to Lubbock. Bill preceded her in death in 1977. Billie married Ken Wooten in 1985 and he preceded her in death in 1998. Reading and spending time with family were her favorite things to do.

Survivors include her sons, Tony Flake and wife Sue of San Antonio and Monte Flake and wife Sylvia of Beau Ridge, LA, and her daughter, Teresa Flake and Armando of Lubbock. She was blessed with five grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and one great great granddaughter.
