Bud Carroll Scribner, 85, of Olton, died Tuesday, February 24, 2015, in Olton. Funeral services will be at 3:00 P.M., Friday, February 27, at the First United Methodist Church in Olton. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 P.M., Saturday, February 28, at Mobeetie Cemetery in Mobeetie, Texas under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors.
Bud was born August 5, 1929, in Wheeler County, Texas, on the family farm, to W. A. and LaVerne (Sims) Scribner. He graduated from Mobeetie High School in 1946 and spent his time farming and ranching. On August 25, 1950, Bud married Charlsey Whitt at the First United Methodist Church in Mobeetie. He moved to Olton in 1961 where he worked at White's Auto, Olton Grain Coop, and the Olton Feedlot before retiring in 1991. Bud loved the rodeo and he especially loved horses.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Fannie Belle Scribner, a brother, Albert Scribner, and a niece, June Pemberton.
Survivors include his wife, Charlsey, of Olton, his daughter, Carol Ann Scribner and her husband, Bernie Worrell of Memphis, a sister, Irvine Kantz Scribner of Portland, Maine, a nephew, Bill Scribner of Stockdale, TX, and two nieces, Mary Ellen Scribner of Austin and Janet Kantz of Portland, Maine.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Mobeetie Cemetery Box 8 Mobeetie, TX 79061 or an E.M.S. of one's choice.
The family will receive friends at Ramage Funeral Directors from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M., Thursday, February 26, 2015.
