Carmen J. Gentile, 78, of Tucumcari, New Mexico, died Wednesday, January 19, 2022, in Olton, Texas.  Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 24, 2022, at Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery in Tucumcari, New Mexico, with Pastor C.J. Gentile and Pastor Phillip Hamilton officiating and under the care of Ramage Funeral Directors.

Carmen was born January 31, 1943, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Anthony and Julia (Stasiunas) Gentile.  Carmen served his country in the United States Air Force for four years.  On October 4, 1968, Carmen married the love of his life, LaMoin Shafer, and they were married over 53 years.  A talented airplane and auto mechanic, Carmen was very creative and enjoyed working with his hands. He loved being a mechanic and tinkering with vehicles.  His pride and joy was his 1961 Chevrolet Impala.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, LaMoin Gentile of Tucumcari, his son, C.J. Gentile, Jr. and his wife Amanda of Socorro and his daughter, Ursula Hamilton and her husband Phillip of Olton. He was blessed with six grandchildren: Kelsey Gentile, Kinslee Gentile, Koulson Gentile, Sterling Hamilton, Shiloh Hamilton, and Savannah Hamilton.
