Carolyn Ann Cerbantez, 60, of Hale Center, died Thursday, May 12, 2022, in Rio Grande City, Texas. Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m., with the rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m., on Monday, May 16, 2022, at Ramage Funeral Directors in Hale Center. Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Hale Center with Fr. Jeremy Trull officiating. Interment will follow at Hale Center Cemetery under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors.
Carolyn was born November 14, 1961, in Plainview, Texas, to Alejandro and Mary (Ramirez) Cerbantez. A lifetime resident of Hale Center before moving to Rio Grande City in 2021, Carolyn was a member of St. Theresa's Catholic Church. Carolyn was the life of the party and loved to dance and listen to music. Known as everyone's favorite aunt or tia, Carolyn loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Linda Trevino.
Survivors include her sons, Ruben Garcia and Armando Garcia, both of Amarillo, her daughters, Victoria Barrera and husband Pilar, Maria Juanita Garcia and husband Juan Elizondo, and Rosalynda Garcia and husband Jorge Garza, all of Rio Grande City, five brothers, Johnny Cerbantez and wife Gloria of Plainview, Alex Cerbantez and wife Beverly of Canyon, Jesse Cerbantez and wife Rosemary of Clovis, Richard Cerbantez and wife Jennifer of Hale Center, and David Cerbantez and wife Jennifer of Plainview, and ten sisters, Elizabeth Esparza and husband Catarino of Hale Center, Rosemary Rodriguez and husband Isidro of Hale Center, Brenda Mendoza of Hale Center, Rebecca Martinez and husband Agustin of Dumas, Christina Gamez of Hart, Jeanette Gamez and husband Andres of Hale Center, Jeannie Mendoza and husband Jaime of Plainview, Yolanda Castillo and husband Flavio of Farmers Branch, Beatrice Cerbantez and wife Amanda of Tulia, and Florinda Cerbantez of Plainview. She was blessed with 18 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.
