Caron Copeland Thomas, 81, of Olton, died Sunday, June 12, 2022, in Plainview, Texas. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at Olton Cemetery, under the care of Ramage Funeral Directors.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at Ramage Funeral Directors, in Olton.

Caron was born July 15, 1940, in Plainview, Texas, to Ray and Gladys (Malone) Copeland.  A graduate of Olton High School in 1958, Caron was a lifetime area resident.  On July 25, 1958, she married Sam Thomas and they were married over 44 years.  She had a vast love for horses and dogs and she enjoyed raising cattle.  Caron took art lessons from Paul Wylie and Kenneth Wyatt and she became a talented artist where she excelled at painting, sculpting, and drawing. She volunteered many hours as an adult leader in 4-H and Boyscouts and she was an excellent cook. Most of all, Caron loved her family, children, and grandchildren, and she will be dearly missed.

Caron was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Sam Thomas in 2002, and a daughter, Christi Thomas, in 2021.

Survivors include her son, Shannon Thomas and his wife Sharon of Plainview, her daughter, Carrie Thomas of Plainview, a brother, Bob Copeland of Amarillo, and a sister, Sharon Smith of Olton. She was blessed with six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
