IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Chris
Avila
October 19, 1979 – December 4, 2025
Chris Avila, 46, of Lubbock and formerly of Earth, passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2025. A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, December 8, 2025, at Iglesia Del Pueblo (IDP) in Earth, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at Iglesia Del Pueblo (IDP) with Pastor Angie Castillo officiating. Interment will follow at Earth Memorial Cemetery in Earth under the care of Ramage Funeral Directors.
Chris was born October 19, 1979, in Hereford, Texas, to Guadalupe Marin Avila and Regina (Griego) Avila. He worked as an oilfield supervisor for 22 years with Key Energy Services, where he was known for his dedication, leadership, and strong work ethic. Chris married Norma Gaytan, in 2022, and together they shared a love filled with laughter, music, and devotion.
Chris was a die-hard 49ers fan and loved dancing, grilling, and spending time with his children. He took great pride in his truck, keeping it spotless at all times. A big jokester, he could light up any room, and he was always the life of the party. He loved music and often sang to the people he cared about—especially his wife, Norma. Known for his selflessness, Chris never hesitated to help others, and if something needed to get done, he found a way to make it happen.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Jesse, Leonard, and Michael Avila.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Norma Avila of Lubbock, his son, Christopher Avila Jr. and daughter, Regina Avila, both of Lubbock, his brothers, Joe Avila, Ramon Avila, and Albino Avila, all of Lubbock, Michael Padron of Ft. Worth, and Lupe Avila of Salinas, CA, and his sisters, Rachiel Avila and Erma Avila, both of Lubbock, and Matilda Medina and Gabriela Avila, both of Plainview.
Chris will be remembered for his joyful spirit, generous heart, and the love he shared with everyone around him. His laughter, music, and unforgettable presence will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
