Christene Clair Rogers was born March 14, 1925, in Wills Point, Texas to the late Frank and Maudie Clair. She passed away Sunday, September 23, 2012, in Plainview, Texas, after a brief illness. She was 87 years old.

Christene graduated in 1942 from Wills Point High School and worked as a dental assistant until she married a high school classmate, James A. Rogers, on December 29, 1949. They lived in many Texas towns during James' career, until they retired to Canton, Texas in 1987. James died in May of 2004. In 2008, she moved to Plainview, Texas.

Christene was a homemaker to her family. She cherished those relationships, as well as her relationships with her extended family members and her friends.

Christene is survived by two daughters, Pam Neighbour and her husband, Ralph of Chino, CA, and Mitzi Davis and her husband, John of Fort Valley, GA, one son, Jimmy Rogers and his wife, Karen of Plainview, TX. She was also blessed with six grandchildren, Judson Davis of Athens, GA, Amanda Hudson and her husband, Thomas of New Orleans, LA, Nathan Neighbour of Pamona, CA, Ruth Rogers and her husband, James of Phoenix, AZ, Sarah Rogers of Abilene, TX, and Jacob Rogers of College Station, TX. She had two great-grandchildren, J.T. Hudson and Elizabeth Hudson, both of New Orleans, LA. She is also survived by her aunt, Sue Daniel of Canton, TX and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, September 25, 2012, at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton with Ralph Neighbour and John Davis officiating. Interment will be in Haven of Memories Cemetery under the direction of Eubank Funeral Home of Canton, TX and Ramage Funeral Directors of Olton, TX.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Canton, TX or to the First Baptist Church of Plainview, TX.
