Christi Shay Thomas, 60, of Plainview and formerly of Littlefield and Olton, died Friday, December 3, 2021, in Lubbock, Texas.  Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 6, 2021, at Olton Cemetery, with Mr. Reydon Stanford officiating and under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors.

Christi was born November 30, 1961, in Littlefield, Texas, to Samuel and Caron (Copeland) Thomas. She graduated from Olton High School in 1980 and was a dog groomer for 23 years in Littlefield.  Christi moved to Littlefield in 1998 from Olton and then moved to Plainview in 2019. She was heavily involved in animal rescue and the Littlefield Animal Project.  A talented artist, Christi's pen and pencil drawings won best of show, twice, at the South Plains Fair and her bronze sculptures were once purchased by renowned artist Kenneth Wyatt.

Christi was preceded in death by her father, Samuel G. Thomas.

Survivors include her son, Samuel Cody Thomas and his wife Celeste "CJ" of Clovis, her mother, Caron Thomas of Plainview, her brother, Shannon Thomas of Plainview, her sister, Carrie Thomas of Plainview, and numerous nieces, nephews, and fur babies.  She was blessed with two grandsons, Oliver and Elijah Thomas.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Plainview EMS in Plainview, Texas or a local dog rescue program.
