Cloma Boyd Fancher was born October 15, 1913 in Chillicothe, Texas. He died May 8, 2008 in Denton, Texas after an extended illness. Cloma came to Olton, Texas in 1927 by way of Wellington and Floydada. He married Gladys Miller in Olton in 1933. She preceded him in death in 1995. He later married Margaret Dickie who preceded him in death in 1999.

He and Gladys had four children: Carolyn who died shortly after birth in 1937, Ronald, Barbara who died in 1962, and Donald who died in 2000.

He is survived by his son, Ronald Fancher and wife, Phyllis, daughter-in-law Betty Fancher, step-daughter Carol Dickie, grandchildren Catherine Fancher, Daniel Fancher and wife Andrea, Kelly Fancher White and husband Mark, Matthew Fancher and great-grandchildren Peyton and Stone Fancher.

He was a farmer in the Olton community for many years with interests in Lamb, Hale, and Parmer counties and in the Rio Grande Valley. Cloma loved fishing, tractors, automobiles, and recreation vehicles. He traveled widely in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and the British Isles. In 1994, he moved to the Lake Forest Good Samaritan Village in Denton where he resided at the time of his death. He was the last surviving member of his generation of siblings and spouses in his extended family.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, May 10, 2008 at 3:00 PM at the Olton Cemetery and a memorial service will be held at the Lake Forest Good Samaritan Village in Denton at a later date.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM Saturday, May 10, 2008.
