Cristel Salinas, Jr., 75, of Olton, died Saturday, April 20, 2013, in Olton. Services will be 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at College Heights Baptist Church in Plainview with Rev. Don Robertson officiating. Cremation will follow under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors.

Mr. Salinas was born August 19, 1937, in Yorktown, Texas to Cristel and Margarita Deleon Salinas. He married Francesca Monreal on September 10, 1956 and they spent 56 wonderful years together. He was a lifetime area resident and member of College Heights Baptist Church in Plainview, where he served as a greeter. Cristel loved spoiling his grandchildren and cooking out. He was famous for his Salinas' Special Ribs.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and two sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Francesca Salinas of Olton; five sons, Roberto Salinas of Olton, Rafael Salinas of McKinney, Rudolfo Salinas, Cristoval Salinas, and Ruben Salinas, all of Plainview; one daughter, Diane S. Castillo of Ft. Worth; two brothers, Ernesto Salinas of Abernathy and Frank Salinas of Muleshoe; and three sisters, Lily Lopez of Bakersfield, CA, Ernestina Salinas of Bakersfield, CA, and Maria Galvan of Mission, TX. He was blessed with 18 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, April 23, 2013.
