Darrell Ray Montgomery, 53, of Olton, Texas, died Tuesday, November 18, 2025, in Lubbock. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, December 11, 2025, at Olton Methodist Church, with Pastor Kyle Brock officiating and under the care of Ramage Funeral Directors.

Darrell was born September 16, 1972, in Jacksonville, Texas, to Charles and Dell (Gore) Montgomery. He was a lifelong cowboy and worked as a general contractor building barndominiums for 4M Construction. He married Ginger Bailey on August 26, 1995.

Darrell enjoyed carpentry and was known as a handyman who could fix almost anything. He liked working cattle, spending time at the feedyard, and breaking horses. In his spare time, he enjoyed being with friends, playing cards, watching old John Wayne movies, and reading Louis L'Amour books.

He was preceded in death by his father and by a brother, Keith Montgomery.

Survivors include his wife, Ginger Montgomery of Olton; two sons, Bailey Montgomery of Canyon and Cole Montgomery of Olton; his mother, Dell Montgomery of Alto, Texas; a brother, Delbert Montgomery of Alto, Texas; and a sister, Lydia Bruce and husband Jerry of Alto, Texas. He is also survived by special friends Lisa and Rusty Walling of Oklahoma and Eric and Kim Haygood of Tyler, Texas, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
