David Steven Hellerud, 64, of Lubbock, TX, died August 29,2015, in Hale Center, TX. He is now resting peacefully in the arms of Jesus. Memorial services will be held at 1:30 P.M., Wednesday, September 2, 2015, at the First Baptist Church in Olton with Brother David Azam officiating and under direction of Ramage Funeral Directors. Memorial services will also be held at United Valley Parish in Halstad, MN, on Saturday, September 19, at 11:00 A.M.

David was born June 12, 1951, in Fargo, ND, to his loving parents, John and Mary Hellerud. He graduated from Halstad High School in Halstad, MN. He took college courses in Crookston, MN and Fargo, ND.
David spent his life on the farm, starting with the family farm near Halstad. He then worked for Ronald Offutt Farms raising potatoes. In 1996, he joined CSS Farms of Watertown, SD, as a Farm Manager. David loved his job, especially his years as Farm Manager for CSS Farms in Olton, TX. He earned the unofficial title of "Diamond Dave" because of his ability to produce a potato crop of the highest quality. CSS Farms extended many kindnesses to David over the years and he was deeply grateful.

David is survived by his mother, Mary Hellerud of Moorhead, MN; his brother, Philip (Bambi) Hellerud of Halstad, MN; his sister, Joan (Steven) Anderson of Glendale, AZ and his sister-in-law Jackie Hellerud of Halstad, MN. David is also survived by his dear friends Sammy and Sylvia Gonzales, Sammy Jr. and Caity Gonzales all of Olton TX, along with many other good friends. David will be missed.
