Dereck Lorenzo Rosalez, 21, passed away Monday, July 6, 2026. He was born March 8, 2006 in Lubbock, Texas to Lorenzo Rosalez and Yessenia Porras.
Dereck attended Springlake-Earth ISD and graduated with the Class of 2023. He was a very happy and loving young man, many people will remember him as “El Cuh”. Spending time with his family and friends was always his top priority. He was very passionate about sports and was honored to play many years with his friends and cousins. He loved adventures and was very competitive. Above all else, Dereck was a great dad, his whole world were his babies, Drayven and Dazzalyn. He was a hard working man who loved welding and dreamed of having his own welding company one day. He was always willing to work hard to provide for his family and always willing to help others. His mom describes him as “not frightened, but a brave, fearless, confident and strong man. He will forever live in the hearts of those who knew and loved him, and he will be remembered for his beautiful smile. Dereck was always smiling and joking and will forever be known as a happy clown.
He is survived by his wife, Kani Holmes; his son, Drayven Rosalez; his daughter, Dazzalyn Rosalez; his father Lorenzo Rosalez; mother, Yessenia Porras; a sister, Natalie Rosalez; brothers, Matthew Rosalez and Gabriel Rosalez; and his many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and other extended family members. Dereck recently lost both of his grandfathers, Mauro Porras and Juan Pablo Rodriquez.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday July 11, 2026 at the Springlake-Earth ISD auditorium. Interment will follow in the Springlake-Earth Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 6:00 p.m. Friday, July 10, 2026, at Iglesia Apostólica de la Fe en Cristo Jesus church, 400 E Main, Earth Texas. A prayer service will begin at 6:00 p.m. Arrangements are under the personal care of Ramage Funeral Directors in Olton.
