Edwiges "Vicky" DeSantiago, 59, of Olton, formerly of Cactus, died on Friday, December 25, 2009 in Lubbock, Texas. Rosary will be said at 7:00 PM, Monday, December 28 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Olton. Mass will take place Tuesday, December 29, at 2:00 PM at the church, followed by interment at Olton Cemetery under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors.

Edwiges was born on October 16, 1950 in Porvenir, Chihuahua, Mexico to Domingo and Antonia Rojas. She was a Texas resident for 35 years and spent her married life in Cactus with her husband, Manuel DeSantiago. She moved to Olton in 2004 when she became a resident at the Runningwater Draw Care Center. While living at the care center, she was a friend to all the residents, often volunteering in the kitchen, distributing coffee to other residents and assisting residents who were wheelchair bound.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Manuel DeSantiago, in 2001, parents; Domingo and Antonia, two brothers, Manuel Rojas and Fortino Rojas, four sisters; Natividad Rojas, Elvira Rojas, Margarita Rojas, and Florina Rojas.


She is survived by one brother, Cruz Rojas of Kress, Texas and three sisters; Maria Lozano of Guymon, OK, Lorenza Ortega of Spearman, and Consuelo Rodriguez of Olton and numerous nieces and nephews.
