Elaine Been, 95, of Earth, died Sunday, March 22, 2020, in Wolforth, Texas.  Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, March 24, 2020, at Earth Memorial Cemetery in Earth with Pastor Chris Flickinger of First Baptist Church in Hereford officiating and under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors.  Visitation will be held from 1:30 to 7:00 PM, Monday, March 23 and 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Tuesday, March 24, at Ramage Funeral Directors in Olton.

Elaine was born September 3, 1924, in Coulterville, Illinois, to William and Jeanne (Pertuisot) Miles.  She married Marvin Hugh "Dutch" Been on March 5, 1942.  Moving to Earth from Clovis in 1956, Elaine was a member of the First United Methodist Church.  Elaine was a homemaker and mother but better known as a domestic goddess.  She was a wonderful cook and a master with an iron.  A talented artist, Elaine did some amazing needlepoint work.  She also enjoyed fishing and was an avid Springlake-Earth Wolverine athletic fan.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin "Dutch" Been in 1992, a daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Kenny Hamilton in 1984, a son-in-law, Ricky Byers in 2007, a great-grandson, Garrett Byers in 2013, two brothers, and one sister.

Survivors include two sons, Marvin Been, Jr. and his wife Barta of Springlake and Jerry Been and his wife Joan of College Station, and two daughters, Pansy Byers Bostwick and her husband Wendell of Lubbock and Melissa Marks of New Caney.  She was blessed with 14 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
