Elias Martinez, 80, of Olton, died Sunday, September 4, 2011 in Lubbock. A prayer service will be held at 7:30 P.M., Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at Trinity Baptist Church in Olton. The funeral service is at 4:00 P.M., Thursday, September 8, 2011 at the First Baptist Church in Olton with Brother Lupe Randall and Brother David Azam officiating. Interment will follow at Olton Cemetery under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors.

Elias was born April 15, 1931 in Brackettville, TX to Simplicio and Maria Charles Martinez. He was an Olton resident for 60 years and a member of Trinity Baptist Church. He married Dora Ramirez on January 3, 1955 and worked for the City of Olton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Dora Martinez of Olton, a son, Hector Martinez of Olton, a daughter, Rosa Casarez of Plainview, three brothers, Sammy Martinez of Olton, Eusebio Martinez of Denver, CO, and Ernest Martinez of Littlefield, two sisters, Ernestina Martinez of Olton, and Maria Barrera of Olton. He was blessed with two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
