Obituary

Erasmo Zamora, Sr., 79, of Olton, died Friday, July 10, 2015, in Amarillo. Rosary will be said at 7:00 P.M., Sunday, July 12, 2015, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Olton. Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 P.M., Monday, July 13, at St. Peter's Catholic Church with Fr. John Smith as celebrant. Interment will follow at Earth Memorial Cemetery in Earth, Texas under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors.

Erasmo was born August 20, 1935, in Goliad, TX, to Ramon and Candida (Chapa) Zamora. After serving in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1960, Erasmo was a farmer. He married Antonia Perez in Muleshoe, TX and they were married for 43 years. Moving to Olton in 2010 from Lazbuddie, he was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church. He loved playing Mexican Bingo, working in the garden, and spending time with his grandchildren and family.

He was preceded in death by five brothers and five sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Antonia Zamora of Olton, six sons: Genio Garcia of Olton, Frankie Garcia of San Antonio, Jimmy Garcia of San Diego, Erasmo (Eddie) Zamora, Jr. of Olton, Ramon Zamora of Abilene, and Mario Zamora of Amarillo, five daughters: Debra Zamora of Amarillo, Connie Garcia of Abilene, Sandra Zamora of Amarillo, Cynthia Zamora Thompson of Amarillo, and Terry Zamora Hernandez of Oklahoma City, eight in-laws, and a sister, Maria Garza of Springlake. He was blessed with 17 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
