Ernesto Contreras, 51, of Olton, died Wednesday, September 2, 2015. Rosary will be said at 7:00 P.M., Friday, September 4, 2015, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Olton. Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, September 5, at St. Peter's Catholic Church with Fr. John Smith as celebrant. Interment will follow at Olton Cemetery under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors.
Ernesto was born November 11, 1963, in Piedras Negras, Mexico to Juan Manuel and Abigail (Esquivel) Contreras. An Olton resident for 35 years, Ernesto married Leticia Pedroza on February 26, 1982 in Carrizo Springs, Texas. He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and was a very hardworking man. A long time welder, he owned Contreras Portable for four years. Spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren, was important to Ernesto. He loved cooking, grilling, hunting and fishing. He will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew.
Survivors include his wife, Leticia Contreras of Olton, one son, Ernesto Contreras II and his wife, Casey of Lubbock, two daughters, Amy Montemayor and her husband, Eric of Bovina and Lety Jimenez and her husband, Felipe of Olton, four brothers, Luis Contreras of San Antonio, Juan Contreras of Olton, Daniel Contreras of Mexico and Oscar Contreras of San Antonio, and five sisters, Isela Martinez of Eagle Pass, Patricia Medellin of Monclova, Mexico, Angela Heine of Sweetwater, Abigail Reyes of Plainview, and Claudia DeLaGarza of San Antonio. He was blessed with 10 grandchildren.
