Esmeralda Cortez Rodriguez, 44, of Olton and formerly of Hart, died Saturday, February 5, 2022, at her home, in Olton.  Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at El Sendero de la Cruz Pentecostal Church in Hart with Pastor Roger Velasquez officiating.  Interment will follow at Hart Cemetery under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors.  Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 7, 2022, at El Sendero de la Cruz Pentecostal Church in Hart.

Esmeralda was born October 19, 1977, in Dimmitt, Texas, to Jose Nicolas and Maria Luisa (Tenorio) Cortez.  She moved to Olton from Hart in 2003 and was a member of El Sendero de la Cruz Pentecostal Church in Hart.  On May 6, 2009, Esmeralda married Esteban Rodriguez.  Esmeralda was a very loving and caring person and family was a priority to her. She was an amazing cook and enjoyed listening to Christian music.  Online shopping and couponing were also some of her favorite things to do. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend and she will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Daniel Rodriguez.

Survivors include her parents, Nick and Mary Cortez of Hart, her husband, Esteban (Steven) Rodriguez of Olton, son, Esteban Sinai Rodriguez of Olton, her daughters, Maria Lucrecia Martinez of Hale Center, Ianisa Belen Rodriguez of Olton, Amanda Garcia of Olton, and Stephanie Rodriguez of Levelland, four brothers, Juan Amaya, Jr. of Plainview, Gabino Amaya of Hereford, Francisco Cortez of Dimmitt, and Jose Luis Cortez of Hart, and her sister, Melissa Amaya of Plainview.  She was blessed with seven grandchildren.
