Esteban Esquivel, Jr., 72, of Olton, died Saturday, February 5, 2011 in Olton. Rosary will be said at 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Olton. Mass will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at St. Peter's Catholic Church with Fr. John Smith and Fr. Reymundo Manriquez officiating. Interment will follow at Olton Cemetery under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors.

Mr. Esquivel was born May 22, 1938 in Benbolt, Texas to Esteban and Antonia Lopez Esquivel. He married Juanita Sanchez in December of 1962 in Plainview and moved to Olton in 1970 from Hale Center. He retired as a farmer in 2004 and was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Esquivel in 2005, three brothers, Manuel Esquivel, Diego Esquivel, and Cesario Esquivel, and a sister, Olivia Renteria.

Survivors include three sons, Martin Esquivel, Esteban Esquivel III and his wife, Graciela, and Juan Esquivel and his wife, Trini, all of Olton, one daughter, Sylvia E. Martinez and her husband, Daniel of Olton, one brother, Homero Esquivel of Ulysses, Kansas, and four sisters, Santos Medellin of Wolforth, Juanita Martinez of Harlingen, Rita Castillo of Harlingen, and Beatriz Cruz of Port Isabel. He was blessed with ten grandchildren.
