Evaristo Holguin, 82, of Olton, died Sunday, January 12, 2025, at his home, in Olton, Texas. Rosary will be said at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at St. Peter's Catholic Church, in Olton. Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 16, 2025, at St. Peter's Catholic Church, with Fr. Raymundo Manriquez, officiating.  Interment will follow at Olton Cemetery under the care of Ramage Funeral Directors.  Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 15, at Ramage Funeral Directors, in Olton.

Evaristo was born February 23, 1942, in Santa Maria, Durango, Mexico, to Erasmo and Antonia (Cerenil) Holguin.  He moved to Olton from Mexico in 1974. In 1978, Evaristo married Ediberta Carranza, in Littlefield, Texas. He worked at Olton Grain Coop and retired in 2007. Evaristo was a quiet man who enjoyed playing cards and dominos. Most of all, he loved his grandchildren and spending time with them.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Erasmo and Antonia Holguin, his wife, Ediberta Holguin, and ten siblings.

Survivors include his sons, Erasmo Holguin and wife Martha of Grand Prairie, Ramon A. Holguin and wife Martha of Olton, and Oscar Holguin and wife Jessica of San Antonio and a brother, Roberto Holguin of California.  He was blessed with six grandchildren: Alex Holguin, Alina Holguin, Isabel Holguin, Oscar Holguin, Diana Holguin, and Maria Holguin and one great-grandchild: Grayson Ezra Mallari.
