Iona Francine Andrew, 95, of Olton, passed away on Monday, April 6, 2026. A private family graveside will be held under the care of Ramage Funeral Directors.
Francine was born January 2, 1931, in Plainview, Texas, to Thomas and Hester (Hobbs) Shrum. She accepted Christ at the age of 12 and lived a life deeply rooted in faith. She married the love of her life, Wilburn “Andy” Andrew, on September 12, 1948, and they shared many wonderful years together until his passing in October of 2002.
Francine was a devoted homemaker and a gifted artist. She served faithfully at First Baptist Church in Olton as the church librarian for 51 years, beginning in 1961. She also taught Sunday school and Girls Auxiliary for 15 years, served on numerous decorating committees, and held several positions in the Women’s Mission Union. She was actively involved in the Olton Art Guild, where she served as president, vice president, and exhibit chairman.
She had a passion for art, especially oil painting, pastels, and portrait work, and many of her paintings can still be found throughout the Olton community. Francine also enjoyed crafts such as crocheting, calligraphy, and sewing. She had a green thumb and loved working in her garden, where she created a special prayer garden that reflected her quiet faith and devotion.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Hester Shrum; her husband, Wilburn “Andy” Andrew; and her sisters, Iva Jean West and Pansy Lee Taylor.
Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Stephen Earl Andrew and wife Judy Faye of Amarillo, and Alan Dale Andrew and fiancée Myra Boykin of Lubbock; her daughter, Alexia Ann Andrew of Olton; five grandchildren, Jason Dale Andrew, Jamie Felicia Andrew, Samantha Renee Bost, Nick Andrew, and Eric Andrew and six great-grandchildren.
Francine will be remembered for her strong faith, her creative spirit, and the love she shared with her family and community. Her legacy will live on through the many lives she touched.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Olton Cemetery Association PO Box 1055 Olton, Texas 79064 or the First Baptist Church Library PO Box 408 Olton, Texas 79064.
