Georgia Belle Ligon Wardlaw, 84, of Hale Center, died Sunday, December 3, 2017, in Canyon. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, December 16, 2017, in the chapel at the Church of Christ At the Colonies in Amarillo with Mr. Dick Marcear officiating. Cremation arrangements are by Ramage Funeral Directors of Hale Center.
Georgia Belle was born April 10, 1933, in Hale Center, to John and Leona (Peacock) Ligon. A lifetime area resident, she married William Louis Wardlaw on August 15, 1955, in Hale Center. She owned and operated Fleur de Lis in Lubbock, and The Bridal House and Celebrations in Plainview. Georgia was a selfless, meticulous, and hard-working lady who overcame many tragic events in her life. She was a caregiver and talented cook and she will be missed greatly by her family and especially by her beloved dog, Brandy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William Louis Wardlaw, in 2012, and three sons, Michael, Aaron, and Patrick.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Holly Houk and her husband Mike of Amarillo, a sister, Jackie Dibbs of Lakeview, CA, her grandson, Ryan Houk and his wife Mandi of Amarillo and a nephew, Steve Fields and his wife Angie of Plymouth, CA.
