Obituary

Geraldine Moore, 86, of Olton, died Thursday, September 23, 2021, in Plainview, Texas.  Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Monday, September  27, 2021, at the First United Methodist Church in Olton with Pastor Kyle Brock officiating.  Interment will follow at Olton Cemetery under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors.  The family will receive friends at Ramage Funeral Directors from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, September 26, 2021.

Geraldine was born March 25, 1935, in Hopkins County, Texas, to Leslie and Beatrice (Knight) Marshall.  Moving to Olton in 1949, Geraldine married Benny Moore on May 17, 1954.  She worked as the water department secretary for the City of Olton for over 20 years.  A member of the First Church of the Nazarene until it's closure in 2007, Geraldine became a member at the First United Methodist Church.  She also served as an Olton Volunteer Ambulance Association dispatcher for 10 years and was a member of the TOPS Club (Take Off Pounds Sensibly).  She loved to spend time with the grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was known as Grammy, Gram, Meme, and Geraldine (to one grandchild).  Geraldine was an avid reader, enjoyed shopping at Goodwill (where treasures were always found), and was talented at crocheting blankets for all in the family.  Working outside in the garden or flower beds is where you would often find Geraldine.  She had a wonderful sense of humor, loved to tell a good clean joke, and she will be missed by all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, a son, Wayland Arvil Moore, four brothers, and two sisters.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Benny Moore of Olton and three daughters, Letha Diane Wieck and husband Mike of Umbarger, Cynthia Kay Neugebauer and husband Mark of Round Rock, and D'Andrea Leigh Barton and husband Paul of Halfway.  She was blessed with eight grandchildren: Heather Birkenfeld, Mandi Neusch, Jil Trout, Brandon Barton, Brad Wieck, Jordin Barton, Zak Barton, and Berkli Barton and 10 great-grandchildren: Tanner Birkenfeld, Chloe Birkenfeld, Jentry Birkenfeld, Marshal Neusch, Evan Neusch, Ainsley Trout, Kaden Franklin, Breken Barton, and Jace and Cree Barton.

The family suggest memorials be made to the Olton Volunteer Ambulance Association PO Box 1087 Olton, Texas 79064.
