Gerardo M. Bribiesca, 83, of Olton, died Tuesday, December 8, 2020, in Amarillo.  Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, December 10, 2020, at Olton Cemetery, with Fr. Jacob Powell of St. Peter's Catholic Church officiating and under the care of Ramage Funeral Directors.  Viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and the rosary will be said at 12:30 p.m., Thursday, December 10, 2020, at Ramage Funeral Directors.

Gerardo was born to Francisco and Juana (Mendoza) Bribiesca, on October 3, 1937, in San Isidro, Guanajuato, Mexico.  On February 10, 1959, he married Herminia Bailon in Mexico and they were married over 61 years.  Moving to Olton in 1970, Gerardo was a farmer and member of St. Peter's Catholic Church.  He was a hard-worker and good provider for his family.  A quiet man who enjoyed being at home with his family, Gerardo was also very involved with the church.  He loved to grill and could always be found manning the grill at family cookouts.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and four brothers.

Survivors include his wife, Herminia Bribiesca of Olton, two sons, Sergio Bribiesca and his wife Yolanda of Amarillo and Gerardo Bribiesca, Jr. and his wife Belia of Amarillo, three daughters, Lola Bribiesca Stephens and her husband Alan of Canyon, Ermelinda Bribiesca Hernandez and her husband Paul of Olton, and Meli Bribiesca and her significant other,  Rene Moreno of San Antonio, two brothers, Santos Bribiesca and Irineo Bribiesca, both of Mexico, and a sister, Rosa Bribiesca of Mexico.  He was blessed with six grandchildren: Mina Hernandez, Paul Francisco Hernandez, Alejandro Bribiesca and wife Brittany, Carlos Bribiesca, Marcos Bribiesca, and Haley Bribiesca.
