Gil Hollingsworth, 69, of Hale Center, died Wednesday, June 7, 2017, in Hale Center. Services will be scheduled at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors of Hale Center.

Homer Gilliam Hollingsworth was born July 21, 1947, in Lubbock, Texas, to Albert and Opal (Bohannan) Hollingsworth. Graduating from Hale Center High School in 1964, Gil went on to earn a bachelor degree from Texas Tech and a master's degree from West Texas State in accounting. Gil had lived in Hale Center over twenty years and was a member of the First Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, Albert A. Hollingsworth.

Survivors include his mother, Opal Hollingsworth of Lubbock, a sister, Rubeth Griffing of Tahoka, one nephew, Casey Griffing, one niece, Sarah Elizabeth Hodges and her husband, J.T., two great-nephews, Mason Griffing and Laikin Hodges, and a great-niece, Lizzie Hodges.
