The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at Ramage Funeral Directors in Hale Center.
Harold was born September 2, 1933, in Perryton, Texas, to Frank and Blanche (Shepherd) Harbour. On April 12, 1952, Harold married the love of his life, Leona Dell McGowen. He enjoyed making model airplanes and developed a love for flying at an early age. His passion for flying allowed him to fly for many skydivers out of Palo Duro Airport in Amarillo. He became a crop-duster and ag pilot at the age of 22 and flew for more than 50 years. Over the years, Harold worked at Central Plains Spraying Service, Harbour Aircraft, and Cotton Center Spraying. Moving to Cotton Center in 1987 from Plainview, Harold was a member of the First Baptist Church in Cotton Center. Along with his flying skills, Harold was a carpenter, cabinet-maker, machinist, engineer, and inventor. He invented and designed an air conditioner unit used in crop-dusting planes and has sold them all over the world. An avid trout fisherman, Harold also loved to snow ski and was still skiing at the age of 75.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Dell Harbour, in 2020, a son, Rocky D. Harbour, in 2009, and two sisters, Ginger Toler and Patsy Anglin.
Survivors include three sons, Keith Harbour and wife Janace of Columbus, Nebraska, Scott Harbour of Cotton Center, and David Harbour and wife Lisa of Gnome, Alaska, a daughter, Jodi Reeves of Lubbock, and a sister, Jody Cybriel of Cincinnati, Ohio. He was blessed with 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be made to the American Diabetes Association at www.diabetes.org/donate.
