Helen Ruth Boones, 75, of Hale Center, died Thursday, February 27, 2020, in Plainview.  Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, March 6, 2020, at the First Baptist Church in Hale Center with Brother Terry Wright officiating.  Interment will follow at Hale Center Cemetery under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors.  Visitation will be held at Ramage Funeral Directors in Hale Center from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Wednesday, March 4, 2020.

Helen was born January 16, 1945, in Lubbock County, Texas.  She moved to Hale Center in 1952 and was a member of Jerusalem Community Baptist Church.  On October 14, 1961, Helen married Ira C. Boones and they were married over 58 years.  Helen was a great cook and baker and made the most wonderful tea cakes and pies.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Minnie Lee Coleman and two brothers.

Survivors include her husband, Ira C. Boones of Hale Center, four sons, Aaron Boones of Hale Center, James Boones of Abilene, David Boones of Florida, and Isaiah Boones of Iowa Park, one daughter, Helen Douglas of Charlotte, NC, one brother, James Earl Jones of Stockton, CA, and a sister, Queen Ester Jones of Stockton, CA.  She was blessed with 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
