Isabel Hobbs, 70, of Petersburg, died Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at her home in Petersburg, Texas. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 20, 2023, at Petersburg Cemetery under the care of Ramage Funeral Directors in Hale Center.  Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, October 19, 2023, at Ramage Funeral Directors in Hale Center.

Isabel was born July 15, 1953, in Fort Sumner, New Mexico, to Lee Gonzales and Bennie Griego.  On May 5, 1973, Isabel married Sonny Hobbs.  They moved to Petersburg in 1975. In 1993, Isabel and Sonny owned and operated Ma's Place, a local restaurant in Petersburg.  Isabel always had a houseful of company and had many "adopted" children and grandchildren. She enjoyed quilting, cross stitching, working puzzles, and playing on her phone. Most of all, Isabel loved her family and she will be greatly missed.

Isabel was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Sonny Hobbs, in 1999, and three brothers.

Survivors include her daughters, Renee Reynolds of Petersburg and Sheila Campos and her husband Isaac of Petersburg, two step-sons, Jay Hobbs of Santa Rosa,  New Mexico and Sperlan Hobbs of Rolla, Missouri, one step- daughter,  Freda Hobbs of Santa Rosa, New Mexico,  five brothers, Joe Gonzales, Ambrosio Garcia, and Charles Garcia, all of Santa Rosa, New Mexico, Gabriel Gonzales of New Mexico, and Nicolas Gonzales of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and six sisters, Esther Romero of Santa Rosa, New Mexico, Amelia Rockelein of New Hampshire, Kathy Gonzales of California, Erlinda Garcia of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Lisa Gonzales of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Yvonne Zepeda of California.  She was blessed with one grandson, Zachery Hobbs.
