J. L. Snider, 87, of Plainview, formerly of Olton, died Thursday, September 13, 2012, in Plainview.
Graveside services will be 2:00 P.M., Sunday, September 16, 2012, at Olton Cemetery with Travis Hart and Randall Scott officiating and under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors.

J.L. was born September 26, 1924 in Delhi, OK to Thomas and Ethel Crawford Snider. On May 7, 1949, he married Retta Lou Howard. She preceded him in death in 1990. He moved to Olton in 1950 where he farmed until his retirement. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and received the Farm Family of the Year award in 1989. In 1991, J.L. married Nina Atkinson. He was a sports fanatic and farmer at heart.

J.L. was also preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

Survivors include his wife, Nina of Plainview, two sons, Terry Snider and his wife, Gay of Ransom Canyon and Joe Snider and his wife, Brenda of Olton, a daughter, Dianne Hall of Plainview, and a brother, Wayne Snider of Amarillo. He was blessed with eight grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, September 15 from 4 to 6:00 P.M.
