Jesse was born in the car, in front of the Coca-Cola Plant, in Dalhart, Texas, to Guadalupe and Regina (Griego) Avila, on February 12, 1969. He lived in Earth and in Plainview before moving to Lubbock in 1996. A hard-working man, Jesse loved cars, especially Mustangs and Corvettes. There was never a more loyal and devout San Francisco 49er fan ever. He enjoyed his dogs and spending time with his family. Most of all, Jesse cared for and loved his nieces and nephews. He helped take care of them and raise them and he will be missed dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Leonard Lee Avila in 1986 and Michael Griego in 1961.
Survivors include his son, Chris Hernandez of Fort Hood, TX, five brothers, Chris Avila, Joe Avila, Albino Avila, and Ramon Avila, all of Lubbock and Lupe Avila, Jr. of Salinas, CA, and four sisters, Rachiel Avila and Erma Avila, both of Lubbock and Gabrela Avila and Matilda Medina, both of Plainview. He was blessed with numerous nieces and nephews.
