Jesus was born October 22, 1941, in Guerrero, Coahuila, Mexico, to Antonio and Maria (Castillon) DeLaCruz.  He married San Juana Hernandez on April 3, 1966 and they were married for over 55 years.  He moved to Olton in 1986 from Laredo and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.  Tinkering in the garage is where you would often find Pops.  He enjoyed reading, singing, and watching baseball and boxing.  Jesus was a talented cook and loved cooking for the entire family. He genuinely had a servant's heart.  Always welcoming people into his home for Thanksgiving and Christmas meals, Pops never let anyone go without.  He also loved collecting pennies and change and would donate it to St. Jude's Children's Hospital as often as he could.  Known as "Tito" to his grandchildren, Jesus was the epitome of a Godly man and set a wonderful example for all to follow.

Jesus was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and his sister, Rosa Elia Madrigal.

Survivors include his wife, San Juana DeLaCruz of Olton, his sons, Antonio DeLaCruz of South Texas, Arturo DeLaCruz and wife Christy of Olton, Juan DeLaCruz and wife Isabel of Olton, Jorge DeLaCruz and wife Lynn of Morton, Mario DeLaCruz of Olton, and Felix DeLaCruz of Kenedy, and his daughters, Alfa DeLaCruz-Oden of Olton and San Juana DeLaCruz Ruben and husband James of Plainview.  He was blessed with 29 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
