Jimmie Dale Haukos, 82, of Lubbock and formerly of Olton, died Monday, October 13, 2014, in Lubbock. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, October 17, at Olton Cemetery with Rev. John Ballard officiating and under direction of Ramage Funeral Directors.
Jimmie Dale was born September 27, 1932 in Quitaque, Texas to James and Myrtle (Whisenhunt) Grant. She graduated from Olton High School in 1950 and attended Texas Tech. While at Tech, she enjoyed playing women's intramural football. She married Tex Iverson in 1953 and he preceded her in death in 1962. Jimmie lived in Lubbock for 43 years and was a respiratory therapist. She enjoyed painting, soap operas, and was a voracious reader. Most of all, she loved animals.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Myrtle Grant, her husband, Tex Iverson, a brother and sister-in-law, Clarence and Vera Grant, and a nephew, Larry Grant.
Survivors include a son, Tim Iverson of Coon Rapids, MN, two nieces, Dawn Pfahning and her husband, Rodney of Mansfield and Karen Grant of Mansfield, and a nephew, Dan Grant and his wife, Lorenne of The Woodlands. She was blessed with five great-nieces and nephews and six great-great-nieces and nephews.
