JoAnn (Jody) Rogers, 80, of Olton, died Friday, August 15, 2014, in Lubbock. Services will be at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, August 19, 2014, at the First United Methodist Church in Olton with Rev. Wendell Horn officiating. Interment will follow at Lockney Cemetery in Lockney under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors.

JoAnn was born February 17, 1934, in Talco, Texas to Fletcher and Johnie (Payne) Cole. She married Berl Rogers on April 1, 1950 and he preceded her in death in 1980. In 1982, she married Harold Smitherman in Clovis. She moved to Olton in 1987 from Lubbock where she owned a restaurant until her retirement in 2002. The holidays were special times to JoAnn. She enjoyed baking and spending time with her family.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Ray Cole.

Survivors include her husband, Harold Smitherman of Olton, three sons, Ronnie Rogers and his wife, Linda of Hobbs, N.M., Randy Rogers and his wife, Stacy of Lubbock, and Ken Rogers and his wife, Kay of Hobbs, N.M., one daughter, Connie McClain of Hobbs, N.M., and one brother, Kenneth Cole and his wife, Cathy of Lake Whitney, TX. She was blessed with eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
She was also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Monday, August 18, 2014.
