Jose Rosa Chavez, 41, of Hart, died Thursday, September 9, 2021, in Dimmitt, Texas.  Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, September 13, 2021, at Hart Cemetery in Hart, Texas, with Pastor Arturo DeLaCruz officiating and under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors in Olton.  Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, September 12, and from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Monday, September 13, at Ramage Funeral Directors in Olton.

Jose was born March 12, 1980, in Parral, Chihuahua, Mexico, to Eduardo and Marina (Dominguez) Chavez.  A lifetime Hart resident, Jose had a keen sense of humor.  Talented at drawing, Jose loved animals.  He would take care and raise any animal he came across, whether it be a rabbit, raccoon, dog, or cat.  He loved to meet the new babies that were born in the family.  To Jose, his mother was his world and he will be greatly missed.

Jose was preceded in death by his father, Eduardo Chavez, his sister, Eva Alicia Chavez, and a brother, Omar Chavez.

Survivors include his mother, Marina Chavez Dominguez of Hart, two brothers, Rodrigo Chavez and Cruz Chavez, both of Friona, and five sisters, Maria Chavez of Plainview, Eloisa Rodriguez and Imelda Guevara, both of Hart, Griselda Chavez of Friona, and Edith Chavez of Olton.  He was blessed with numerous nieces and nephews.
