Jose Bernardino Ibanez, 67, of Olton, died Saturday, July 24, 2021, in Lubbock.  Rosary will be said at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 27, 2021, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Olton.  Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at St. Peter's Catholic Church with Fr. Jeremy Trull officiating.  Interment will follow at Olton Cemetery under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors.  Viewing will be held from 12:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday, July 26, and from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 27, 2021, at Ramage  Funeral Directors in Olton.

Mr. Ibanez was born May 20, 1954, in Guadalupe, Chihuahua, Mexico, to Gregorio and Natalia (Najera) Ibanez.  On October 28, 1978, Jose married Josefina Gonzales.  He moved to Olton in 1978 and was a farmer.  He thoroughly enjoyed farming and working the fields.  Dedicated to his job, Jose worked with the same family for over 40 years.  Jose was always there when someone needed him and was very willing to lend a helping hand.  A member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, Jose enjoyed cooking out with family and friends. A very loving and caring husband, father, and grandfather, Jose loved his family and will be dearly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Gloria Sanchez.

Survivors include his wife, Josefina Ibanez of Olton, two sons, Robert Ibanez and Daniel Ibanez, both of Olton, two daughters, Natalia Mejia and husband Jesus of Olton and Irma Avendano and husband Moises of Olton, and a brother, Victor Ibanez, Sr. of Olton.  He was blessed with four grandchildren: Aaron and Adamari Mejia, Jovanni Avendano, and Royce Ibanez.

Serving as pallbearers will be: Robert Ibanez, Daniel Ibanez, Moises Avendano, Jesus Mejia, Constancio Guerrero, Andres Sanchez, Victor Ibanez, Jr, and Jay Light.
