Jose Antonio "Tony" Jimenez, 62, of Olton, died Monday, July 22, 2024, at his home in Olton, Texas. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 27, 2024, at Olton Cemetery, with Mr. Jerry Lopez and Brother David Azam officiating and under the care of Ramage Funeral Directors. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, July 26, 2024, at Ramage Funeral Directors, in Olton.
Tony was born November 30, 1961, in Olton, Texas, to Raymundo and Paula (Rocha) Jimenez. He graduated from Olton High School in 1980. On October 20, 1989, he married Sanny Salas, who he loved for near 37 years. Tony was a jack of all trades, He was a talented carpenter, electrician, plumber, mechanic, and more. He was always working on something and had built many grills and smokers throughout the years. Tony worked at Given's Texaco for 20 years, Hall Lumber for 13 years, and the Olton Housing Authority for eight years. He was also the owner and operator of T&S Carwash and Flats from 2008 to 2015.
Tony served the Olton community in many ways, He was a former captain with the Olton Volunteer Fire Department for over 17 years and was named Fireman of the Year. He also served on the Olton City Council. Known to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed anything, Tony was a mentor to his sons and others in town. He loved to golf and was the Jimenez family golf coach for his sons and others. A master chef, Tony enjoyed smoking ribs and briskets, having cookouts with family and spending time with his grandchildren. People, especially children, were drawn to Tony because of his genuineness and sense of humor and he was loved by all who knew him.
Tony was preceded in death by his father, Raymundo Jimenez, two brothers, Freddy Jimenez and Luis Jimenez, and a nephew, Marcus Jimenez.
Survivors include his mother, Paula Jimenez of Olton, his wife, Sanny Jimenez of Olton, five sons, Eddie Arguellez and wife Rachel of Inez, Texas, Andrew Jimenez and wife Brenda of Hale Center, David Salas and wife Summer of Shallowater, Joshua Jimenez and wife Heather of Olton, and Juan Jimenez and wife Courtney of Olton, three brothers, Johnny Jimenez and wife Barbara of Burleson, Pete Jimenez of Olton, and Manuel Jimenez and wife Mary Ann of Olton, and two sisters, Irene Pedroza of Olton and Susan Rivera and husband Paul of Olton. He was blessed with 12 grandchildren: Jeraan, Ethan, Emma'lee, Paytn, Kyndal, Brixon, Brayden, Blaine, Preslee, Parker Jay, Slade, and Saylor and numerous nieces and nephews.
