Josefina V. Colunga, 58, of Levelland, died Tuesday, December 17, 2013, in Levelland. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 P.M., Thursday, December 19, at the Spanish Church of God in Levelland. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M., Friday, December 20, at the Spanish Church of God with Rev. Rodolfo Mejia officiating. Interment will follow at Levelland Cemetery under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors of Olton.
Josefina was born March 19, 1955, in Reynosa Tamaulipas, Mexico to Juan and Juana Valdez. She married Roy Colunga on November 10, 1974, in San Antonio and moved to Levelland in 1987. She was a member of the Spanish Church of God. Josefina loved to read and was known as being a great cook.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Elizeth Colunga in 1981, and a brother.
Survivors include her husband, Roy Colunga of Levelland, a daughter, Ruth Carrillo and her husband, Joseph of Levelland, two sons, Eliezer Colunga and his wife, Martha of Levelland and Roy Colunga, Jr. and his wife, Virginia of Levelland, three brothers, Maximilio Valdez and Rodolfo Valdez, both of California and Juan Valdez of San Antonio, and one sister, Luz Valdez of Houston. She was blessed with seven grandchildren.
