Jovita Romero, 62, of Earth, died Saturday, May 7, 2016, in Lubbock. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, May 11, 2016, at Earth Memorial Cemetery in Earth with Pastor Angie Castillo officiating and under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors of Olton. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 9:00 P.M., Tuesday, May 10 and from 9:00 A.M. to 1:30 P.M., Wednesday, May 11, at IDP (Temple of Adoration) in Earth.
Jovita was born November 28, 1953, in Gomez Palacio, Durango, Mexico to Atanacio and Maria Garcia Romero. Moving to Earth in 1981 from Juarez, Mexico, she had been married to Robert Salcido Porras for 27 years. Jovita was a wonderful cook and had a great sense of humor.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Manuel Resendez, and a nephew, Luis Romero.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Porras of Earth, her son, Robert Porras, Jr. of Earth, a brother, Gerardo Romero of Earth, and two sisters, Lydia Resendez of Earth and Teresa Reyes of Earth.
