Juan Contreras Esquivel, 56, of Olton, died Sunday, December 2, 2018, in Rio Grande City.  Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, December 7, 2018, at Olton Cemetery with Pastor Valentine Martinez officiating and under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors.

Juan was born January 17, 1962, in Quahilla, Mexico, to Juan M. and Abigail (Esquivel) Contreras.  He lived in Olton for 40 years and was a welder.  He married Elissa Hernandez on January 12, 2006, in Olton.  Juan was a hard worker and he enjoyed spending time with his family.  He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Ernesto Contreras, and a son, Juan Andreas Contreras, in 2004.

Survivors include his wife, Elissa Contreras of Olton, three sons, Miguel Contreras of Mexico City, Mexico, Juan M. Contreras III of Plainview, and Tristan N. Contreras of Olton, a daughter, Laura Contreras of Plainview, and a step-daughter, Miranda Hernandez of Olton.  He was blessed with 9 grandchildren.
