Virginia Juanita Cottrell was born June 21, 1930, in Hale County, Texas to Jack and Alice (Redinger) McClain. She was a lifetime Olton resident and member of First Baptist Church. She married Gene Cottrell on August 23, 1948, in Clovis, New Mexico. A beautician in Olton for over 50 years, Juanita could also be found working at Olton State Bank, the Mini Mall, and for the past eight years at Ramage Funeral Directors. Named Olton's Woman of the Year in 1987, she enjoyed playing bunko, and in her younger years, was a talented golfer. Affectionately known as Memaw, she was a caretaker to many and will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene in 2004, her parents, and two brothers.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Alicegene Brooks of Olton and Jackie Sue Wilson and her husband, Benny of Gruver, and her grandson, Rodney Sherry of Ponca City, OK.

The family suggests memorials be made to a favorite charity.
